Ham Radio Rocks at 700K Strong, YO!
According to a report from the ARRL, the number of Amateur Radio operators in the U.S. has grown over the past 12 years. From 677,000 in 1999 to a new all time high of 700,000 operators in 2011 according to ARRL VEC Manager Maria Somma, AB1FM.

Hey Kids, What Time Is It? It’s Amateur Radio Kid’s Day! [VIDEO]
Twice a year, every year, Ham Clubs all over are encouraged to open up their shacks and invite the kiddies to be on the air and make contacts with other kids around the world, or just around the area. It’s Kid’s Day and a great way to get our youth not only involved with Amateur Radio, but with science and technology as well.

Amateur Radio Operators Worry About HR 607
Back on February 10th, 2011, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) introduced House Resolution 607, the “Broadband for First Responders Act of 2011″. It’s intended to create an area of radio spectrum for First responders to communicate with each other. But the way they are looking to pay for this is to auction off other pieces of radio spectrum that are also used by Amateur Radio Operators.
