But in the time I was away, I did get a smart phone finally. For those wondering, an iPhone4S, and I love it. And one of the things I found I liked doing with it, is taking pictures with the 8MP camera that is built into it. The photos always seem to come out looking great. And I have already found a few neat accessories I would love to have available for myself for taking photos and even recording audio. Then allowing me to blog on the go and put up content as soon as I have recorded it or snapped a picture. And then have it of course, propagate out to the various social media sites I frequent.

Since I got my phone, it’s like a paradigm shift has occurred with the media I want to produce. It all seems so much easier and simpler to create it, then share it. All from one or 2 devices, where before, I had to use 5 or 6 devices. It really is empowering.  I’ve started with just taking photos with the Instagram app and posting those on my Twitter and Facebook pages. And I’ve also started to play with another app called Blip.me Broadcast, which allows you to record 60 second audio clips and share them as well. Once I figure out how to integrate these into this site, it’s going to be a lot of fun doing this stuff! Till then, here are a few pics I took with Instagram. They of course are Ham Radio related.

The pictures we had taken are on their way to us us now, and we should have them by next week. Kim and I have only seen one of the pics from the set of 20 we ordered. But Michelle, the photographer, took about 784 pictures of us. Yeah, we’re photo sluts I guess. Otherwise, it was your average week, with Kim having to travel for work for a couple days. We decided too that we’re going to do Movie trivia for our trivia show to start, since we already have someone ready to go for that. We’re just looking for another contestant. Interested?

We also hit up the Celeb news again this show. Talked about Vouge banning skinny models and Rob Lowe starring in a made for TV movie about Casey Anthony. This got Kim’s blood going as she is not a fan of Ms. Anthony. Then we talked about the new Spider-Man trailer, and how I’m conflicted about seeing it. If you listen closely, Kim calls me out on my flip floppyness. That in no way has us endorsing Mitt Romeny.We also talked about Jessica Simpson and her new baby. It seems to be the consensus on the internet that even though it was only 9 months of her carrying it, it felt like 18.

Then we talked about a great recipe we had for dinner, Chicken Lime Tacos. Yummy! We’ve had it before, and figured we should share the tastey love so to say. That’s it for this time around, till next week! ~Rich

There are some surprising jobs on here and others you do for the love of it, not for the money. Rich and I discuss our radio job – you don’t get into radio unless you love radio. Boston Skyline

We had just gotten back from Boston and seeing Kim’s sister for her birthday. The party was to be a surprise, but her husband and my future brother-in-law, Jason, couldn’t keep the secret. Oh well, maybe next time. But if you listen, you get to hear how we throw Jason under the bus.

Kim thought up a nice twist on one of our regular segments. We checked out “Child Stars Gone Bad”, and see what had happened to them and what they are up to. Some of them Kim and I were like “I forgot about that one!” Which means, that time sent on the TV or in a movie really payed off.

From there we moved to the kitchen for our “What’s For Dinner Segment”, and shared a Turkey Enchilada recipe that was really awesome. Plus there was plenty left over for my lunch the next 2 days. If you like something with Mexican flair, then try this recipe out. You won’t be disappointed. Quick note on our trivia show: We had to postpone the live show because of Kim having to be out of town. Kim, Terry and I at Shenendoah National Park

The big story of course was that we went on vacation, and had a ton of fun and saw a lot of cool stuff. Pictures of course are up on our Facebook pages. We went to Virginia, to Massanutten, which is near Harrisonburg in the western part of the state. We stayed at the Massanutten Resort, which was my first time. It was for lack of a better word, pretty great! We played mini golf, went swimming and a whole bunch more.

From there we kind of winged it when it came to stories we had. We really didn’t have anything because we’re recording the day after we got back, and we’re still kind of recouping from the drive. But talked about a man who was a frequent donor at a sperm bank and fathered 100 children. I’m still working on wrapping my mind around that. We also talked about movies coming out as well, like Avengers and the new Zack Effron movie, Lucky One. We of course decided that I would see Avengers and Kim would see Lucky One. So be looking for our reviews on those.

But while you’re listening to this show, remember that we’ll be get some much needed rest for our return. And when we do come back, we’ll have stories of our trip. I’m sure one of us will do something embarrassing and have to recall it on the show for a good laugh. If not, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see someone do something embarrassing that we can share with you on the show. Either way, we’ll have something.

As this is the first “Best of..” show Kim and I have done, I noticed that my cataloging of the shows, is a little lax. I had to search for specific parts to find the one segment I wanted. What does this mean to you, the listener? Absolutely nothing, I’m just lazy and don’t want to spend more than 5 minutes looking for a clip of audio I want to pull out. I just felt the need to vent to you. I feel we can listen to each others problems at this stage in our relationship. Aww, who am I kidding. You couldn’t give a dingo’s kidney about how I try and catalog all the parts of the show. But still, I do feel a little better.

Any woo, Kim and I want to thank you for listening and sticking with us. We’re always trying to think up new things to keep the show interesting and make it better. I feel it’s still kind of raw, but the more we do, the more I see potential to make this a great show for you. Again, thank you for sticking with us.

Kim & Rich Tuesday Night Trivia Show is April 24th!

We recapped the week we had and then shared some details as well as set a date for our new trivia segment that we plan on doing a couple times a month. It should be fun and we’ll be sending out invites on Facebook to be a contestant or to just be a part of the fun in a chat room, while you watch us on Ustream. Kim slipped in a new Technology News segment on me. Of course I love these kinds of things. We talked about Google selling their new Android tablets. We also touch on the new Playstation 4 and how it’s not going to have some features that gamers enjoyed with the PS3. It seems PlayStation seems to be falling victim to the “They’re pirating our stuff so we’ll make the legal end users suffer” mentality. Hopefully they get some professional help from Dr. Drew.

We also talk about Lindsay Lohan and her being released from her probation. Now Hollywood can get back to making quality movies with a high caliber actress like Lindsay. OK, you got me, that was an April Fools joke a few days late. But on another movie front, Will Farrell announced that Anchorman 2 is a go. Kim and I didn’t see the first, and Kim has no interest in seeing either the new one or the original, but I’m willing to watch the first one just based on opinions of my peers.

After all that, we shared a recipe for Chili Cornbread Pie. It was really good and the plan is to have it again, so it’s gone into the Book O’ Recipes on our kitchen shelf.

We started a new segment this week. I called it Social Media in Review, and Rich quickly threw me under the bus and said he doesn’t like that name – while then he should come up with a better one, right? That’s what I thought. Anyway, we talk about Facebook and how some employers are now asking for Facebook logins and passwords at job interviews. We have a pretty good discussion about this. How do you feel?

We move into some celeb news – seems to be a baby news week, but first we talk about Whitney’s cause of death which was released this past week. No surprise here. Did you know Reese Witherspoon (or Withoutherspoon) is pregnant with her third child? And Hillary Duff just had a baby, and of course who can forget the controversy of Jessica Simpon’s baby bump. We talk about it all in this episode. And I even make Rich speechless with one of my comments. That doesn’t happen very often. Listen to the episode to find out how!

So we started the show talking about why we couldn’t do a show last week. We feel like we owed you an explanation. After recounting the whole tale, Kim and I started our review of This Means War and The Vow. Now Kim saw both, I only saw This Means War. The Vow is obviously a major “chic flick” and I wasn’t interested in seeing it. So she went with our friend Stephanie, while Stephanie’s boyfriend, and my friend Andrew, hung out with me at mine and Kim’s house. We passed the time in true men fashion, by playing a video game.

Then Kim and I went into some Off The Wall News. We hadn’t talked about anything like this recently, so we were due. We started with Groupon offering a trip to the Titanic, for $12,500. We thought that would be a deal and a half for James Cameron, but for people like us, we’d wait till Disney had something similar. After that we stayed in the water with a story about a Japanese tourist who was following a GPS and drove into the Pacific Ocean in Australia. Must have been that left turn in Albuquerque? Then we visited a story about a a diner in Washington State where the patrons had an interesting tradition to tack dollar bills to the walls after a meal. The owner took some of those down because it was getting too full, and donated the money to charity.

After that, we jumped into some weird laws, and as usual, some of them, just didn’t make a lick of sense. And we of course had to speculate how anyone could even follow some of these laws in this day and age, or how they even came to be. It’s safe to say, humans are very illogical. We also did our best animal impersonations. That segment alone should be enough for new people to listen. So tell your friends and family about us. And feel free to use us an an excuse with your family for what ever shortcoming they say you have. Tell them we corrupted you! Till next episode…

Of course the big news of the week were the Oscars. No, we didn’t watch, but we have opinions about the Oscars and the winners and losers (yes we talk about the losers too!)

We decided it was time to talk about some movies coming out in April. Quite a few of them may merit a watch from us, but probably not in the theaters. Like Titanic or American Pie? They’re coming out again. Do the movie companies not know how to come up with an original new idea? Apparently not…just sayin’. Speaking of which, Rich and I went out for our anniversary and saw This Means War. Then I went out with a friend and saw The Vow. We’ll have complete reviews of the movies on Episode 37. Not sure if you want to see it? Well listen to our rating and decide for yourself!

I’ll be “on location” for Episode 37, traveling for the Girl Scouts and talking about our 100th anniversary! March 12 it is! Busy busy. Until next time, thanks for listening!

Gas Prices are getting higher again.

In the mean time, in this episode, we covered a few items in Celebrity News. Ever notice how some actors seem to be in high school forever? It’s like they have a fountain of youth. And we talked about that and ran down a short list of some of those actors who never seem to age on TV. I mean how many senior years can you have on a TV show about high school kids? A lot with the magic of television, and they all seem to blur together. Just saying. But not all the celebs we talked about were playing high school kids. Some were playing cops and the like and just looked really good for their age. They obviously take good care of themselves. And we talked a little about that too.

Then we delved into some regular news. The big topic is once again the gas prices. They keep going up and everyone is starting to get a little upset again. But research is showing that people are used to $4 a gallon for gas. But the big question is why is it going up so fast? Is it the middle east? Are we running out? What about Wall Street? We tried to figure it out, but we don’t have answers just like the rest of the country. So we’ll have to wait and see.

As for the aforementioned vacation, Kim and I will be gone for a week in April. I’ll be putting together a “Best of..” show with some of our better moments and that will be released while we are taking it easy. Just wanted to warn you if you suddenly got a sense of Deja’ Vu’. Till next time… ~Rich

We then move into some other interesting news. Like a pilot who was stopped from boarding a flight because he was intoxicated (makes you think twice about flying!)

I then thought it would be fun to talk about some of the best iPhone apps. It was a perfect week to talk about that as Rich now has his first iPhone and is very excited about it! So as of the writing of this story and the release of this show, Kim is still on the road. She’s due home Friday and I couldn’t be happier! We spent a good 5 years doing the long distance relationship thing, and it got old, real fast. Now when were away from each other for longer than a day or 2, we kind of get anxious. So my 2 weeks have been real crappy. But enough about that, let’s talk about the show!

So, since Kim was out of town, she Skyped in and this was Kim’s first time doing that. So I kind of guided the thing along since i do it all the time for the other shows. We then talked about Kim doing a 5K. Will she be ready for it? Most likely, but listen to find out more. We then started talking about some stupid criminals. Yeah, there are some really dumb ones out there. Almost makes you wonder how we got this far huh?

Then we moved on to Celeb news. Now this was recorded BEFORE Whitney Houston passed away. So we’ll have something about her next episode no doubt. But in the mean time, we talked about Naomi Watts playing Princess Di in a new movie, and it’s not a made for TV one. Because it seems, those were the only movies made about her. Between Lifetime and Oxygen networks cornering the market on those kinds of movies, this might be a breath for fresh air. We also talked about Sarah Jessica Parker and her hosting of a big celebrity filled gala. By all accounts it was a success. Listen in to find out more.

Then we moved on to Sir Paul McCartney and his latest album and his Valentine’s Day song. The title of his new album, “Kisses on the Bottom” brought out the crude school boy jokes in me. But can you blame me? I mean, out of context, the name is kind of.. well… You know! But we talked about that and of course, no audio of it because of copyright issues. Man, the RIAA really ties down hands.

Then we threw an impromptu recipe in there to share. I didn’t know we were doing that one because I guess I didn’t look far enough ahead at the notes. That’ll teach me, right? But we’re working on something new for the show that we think people will really like. So keep listening and we’ll fill you in on more. So, till next episode!

The police close in as Marcus investigates his own nocturnal activities, desperate to figure out what happens after he goes to sleep. His journey to uncover the truth leads him to a shocking revelation.”

We talked with Allen about some of the experiences during the filming of the movie. Also about some of his research about “Parasomnia” and this sleep disorder. We also got some insight about the process of making a movie in general. All in all a really good interview about a thrilling movie. It’s the Sleeper hit that you have not seen yet but need to. Yes, we went to see One for The Money last week and we give our opinions on the movie. Kim being a big fan of the source material, loved it, but I wasn’t so enamored. So Katherine Heigl lied to us! She said guys would like it. I’m a guy, and I didn’t. I have sent my umbridge in a sternly worded email to her. Kim on the other hand said I probably didn’t like it because I didn’t read the books. I can see that being possible. But if I don’t like the books, then the movie would have been worse for me. But still I liken it to her not watching a full Star Wars movie. She has no desire to see one, so I guess the math speaks for itself on it.

We then went on to talk about some more movies that are coming out soon and if we think we should see them. What do you think think of some of the movies? Do you want to go and see any of them? 21 Jump Street looks like it could be good. They got Johhny Depp to be in it, so I’m guessing it should be OK. But hey, this is Hollywood, makers of SOPA and PIPA. So I’ll hold my giddy laugh in reserve. Dr. Suess’ The Lorax also looks pretty cool. Danny DeVito as the Loarx and the clips I have seen online and TV make it look to be good. But I have been fooled before. But I can give it the benefit of the doubt. It’s good source material. While talking about this movie though, I ask Kim about her love hate relationship with Taylor Swift, who lends her voice to the movie. She doesn’t like her, but sings her songs in the car. Hmmm. Listen to find out more.

Then we moved on to some interesting news and about the economy and the most expensive cities to live in. I have no clue what the numbers really mean, but when talking about how expensive something is, then the bigger the number, the more expensive it can be. And some of the numbers really did surprise me. I sound like I got hit with a dummy stick when going through the numbers.

This show is mostly about news. We start with some world and U.S. news including some new information about the tragedy on the cruise ship in Italy. We have promised to not talk about politics on the show since we have varying opinions, but I threw in a controversial subject about the death penalty. Rich and I are pretty much on the same page as far as that is concerned, but we do have a good conversation about it.

Another controversial subject is censorship – we are both radio personalities and are both strongly against censorship in any way, however Twitter is now able to censor tweets by individual countries. How do we feel about this? It’s in our technology news section. As is Rich’s favorite fruit to talk about, Apple!

Some entertainment news this week brings us some nominees for the Academy of Country Music Awards (Go Carrie!) We also talk about the new movie One For The Money, that we are actually going to see on Friday. We will have a review on the next show.

I will be on the road traveling for work for a week a half, so next week’s show will be recorded together and then we will be experimenting with a skype recording and hopefully that works out for Episode 33!
