Ugress, Genius Composer, and Commodore Amigan

AmiZed News, Featured No Comments

A short interview, and lots of good music!

Ugress is an electronica oriented group, mainly comprised of Gisle Martens Meyer aka GMM, along with various guest artists. Now a famous Norwegian artist, like all good artists, he cut his teeth on the Commodore 64 and Amiga.

Before becoming Ugress, GMM was known as Gnosis on the scene, a good collection of the tracks made by him on his Amiga´s can be found on the modarchives. A great deal of free downloadable music is available online from his recent years as Ugress as well. All of which are available on Ugress.com. It´s also worth noting that all his tracks are on Spotify. So listen and enjoy!

AmiZed News, Featured 2 Comments

I have recently found more copies of the DVD I produced for AmiWest 2007! The DVD, titled The Roundtable: Special Ed was produced specifically for AmiWest and was offered for sale at our booth as well as won by a few lucky folks at the show! I was only able to bring a few with me due to airline restrictions and just never got around to posting this for sale here on the website.

The Time is Right! – Op Ed by Eddie Cejvan

AmiZed News No Comments
Unless you’ve recently been living in one of those places on Earth where there are no computers and no internet coverage, and I’m not casting dispersions, you will have innevitibly noticed that Apple have released Snow Leopard a.k.a. OS X 10.6. The official collective sentiment out of Cupertino is ‘No Biggie” , though of course the people on the interwebs have made that into a biggie. Why am I mentioning this to an Amiga audience? All will be revealed in due course; in the next few paragraphs to be exact.

Of Feeds and Things….

AmiZed News 3 Comments

As you may have noticed or read on some of the Amiga Community websites, we’re pretty much on hiatus for the time being for a few different reasons. Needless to say, while on hiatus, some stuff has gotten left behind, broken, mixed up and generally frakked. So we’re going to work on those things, and hopefully get it all back in shape. But first…

Carrier Whistle and iTunes Issues

AmiZed News No Comments

There was an ongoing issue with iTunes where the length of the shows wouldn’t show up in the post for the show. This was because it was not being seen on OUR website. We inputted the times and we expect the show length to be updated on iTunes the next time it scrapes our RSS feed.

Sorry for any hassles.

Phoners – Grease The Wheels

In an effort to simply pollute the interwebs with junk, I offer these. Phone calls from listeners of the stations I work at. These are some of the funnier ones. Some weird, some just plain whatever. So enjoy!

BBS Status and New Website

AmiZed News No Comments

Well, after a short test run a few months back, I took the BBS down because it kept crashing and giving me issues I didn’t have time to address. Well, I now had a little time (Which is why Episode 34 of ART is late) and I got the BBS up and running again. Plus, I managed to bang out a new separate website for the BBS itself. Now the BBS is not accessable yet. I’m still stress testing it to make sure it’ll run the way I want. But you’ll get the message when it’s ready for you. As for the new website, it will be where you can find info on the BBS itself, like menus, who’s currently online and other useful information that will be added as the BBS is remodeled. In the mean time, I would love to get some feed back on the new site.

You can find it here. (http://bbs.amigaz.org)
