		<description>Yeah, I remember the EA Construction kit on the C=64 and the Apple ][e for making your own games. And I may be wrong, but wasn&#039;t there something like that for the Atari 2600 too?

		<description>One place I think the Amiga might find a niche is as an open console that you can create and distribute your own games on.  2 Decades ago, kids made their own games all the time and share and brag to their friends.  This whole dynamic is gone today!  XBox, Wii, PS3..  great hardware, but kids can&#039;t touch it.  So, their left to mindlessly plug away with their controllers for hours and hours.

I&#039;d love to see kids have the option to make, not just play the games.  And an Amiga as an open console could cater to that.  I.e. make a BASIC like environment that is very approachable by kids, where the results can be sent down the street to his friend, or even downloaded for a cell phone version.

I think kids would get into that AGAIN!</description>

If however, as has been discussed, we go down a dual path of developing a new Open Amiga operating SYStem (OASYS) firmly based upon the principles of the old OS with new ones added then I see no problem in adding a few cludges to the old codebase to parallel what will exist on the new system IF IT IS UNDERSTOOD that the OASYS codebase will completely replace the old codebase + cludges when it is ready and that new development written for it will run properly on the new system (part of the great migration plan).
