Up one week, down the next. Strap-in kiddies, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

The first sign of something new, the first new development for Amiga and all you guys could do is bitch about it.

Wandering the ‘digital desert’ for 14 years is bound to turn any person into a sceptic, but we Amigans are better than that. We held a prestigious position among computer owners everywhere; that of enthusiastic tech evangelists. Wherever a person said it couldn’t be done, we knew better. I hear that in Bill Panagouleas pretty much in every episode.

All that aside, what about a modicum of journalistic objectivity. Perhaps a bit of research done before expressing your views. A brief discussion with a person who’s done OS or platform work, or a person involved with product development would have given you enough pause to ‘see the coin from both sides’.

I may come across as an Amiga Inc. fan boy but my true allegiance is to new technologies. It’s not easy developing breakthrough products. I’ve been trying to get a new web application platform off the ground for the past 3 years which is supposed to fund a new computing platform I’ve been developing since 2000.

One of the hardest things to do is introduce something new. It requires convoluted product strategies or a dump truck of money to bridge the gap. In my opinion, the world doesn’t need another OS. From the dealings I’ve had with Amiga Inc. back in 2000, they shared that opinion, and based on what I see happening now, I’d say they are still of that opinion. Their strategy may not be obvious, it may not even be sound, but there most certainly is one. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Excuse my rant, but it’s to be expected from time to time, such is the nature of human interaction. I always enjoy listening to you guys.

Wow! Thanks for that great response! We really appreciate it.

    But here’s the thing….

None of us are jounranlists. We have never claimed to be. The whole premesis of the show is average Amiga Users and developers talking about the news, not reporting it. We express our opinions and what we have seen from others on the forums.

I didn’t like AA when it first came out. When OS 4 was announced I jumped for joy and waited. Now we have all the legal mess with that, as well as AI talking about OS 5 which turns out to be AA2. Still not interested and I’m also kinda peeved. So I expressed that in the show.

And you don’t need ask to be excused for ranting. You’re welcome to rant here. Who knows, we may read it on the show if we like it. :)

    Fair enough.
Though just for your own enlightenment, AA2 is not OS5. They share a foundation is all.

As far as reading my rant out on the show, be my guest. I’m also not opposed to a “special guest” skype hookup.
